Frosty Lad to conquer the second start of the season in Livin Novices’ Handicap Chase at Sedgefield on 3rd April
The Class 5 Livin Novices’ Handicap Chase is to be held at Sedgefield over two miles and six furlongs on Tuesday, 3rd April. Ten five-year and older thoroughbreds have assembled for the race that has the purse set at £1, 819.
The lineup is highly competitive and versatile in a manner that quite a few entries have already raced at Sedgefield but not all have been able to win.
Frosty Lad, Moscow Society’s eight-year-old bay gelding out of mare Johnston’s Crest, did not only have his seasonal debut at Sedgefield but also struck the seasonal victory through it.
Frosty Lad won the Dylan Meale Memorial Handicap Chase on 4th March at Sedgefield over two miles and four furlongs. Riding with T. Kelly, Frosty Lad had 1 ¼ lengths to his advantage.
The runner up of the race was Toulouse Express who was soon followed by Mister Bloom.
The 5/2 favourite of the race, Jan Jandura, finished eighth on the lineup set for eleven contestants.
This was the second time that he raced at Sedgefield as before this during the previous season, Frosty Lad took part in the Blue Square Conditional Jockeys’ Staying Novices’ Hurdle (Series Qualifier)on 22nd November over two miles and four furlongs
but could not win. Rather he was positioned eighth on the lineup of twelve.
The race was won by the 4/5 favourite of the race, Bound For Glory.
Frosty Lad is in for the second start of the season today and it is highly probable that he will claim this one too.
Another entry who has been active at Sedgefield during the new season is the eleven-year-old Mister Bloom.
On 4th March, he finished third after Frosty Lad in the Dylan Meale Memorial Handicap Chase.
On 13th March, Mister Bloom scored second in the Free Horse Racing Bets With Freebetting.Co.UK Handicap Chase which was won by Along Came Rosie.
As opposed to Frosty Lad, Mister Bloom has raced thrice during the season and is in for the fourth outing of 2012. Even then the chances for Frosty Lad are far higher than what can be expected from Mister Bloom but the two are bound to give each other a
hard time.
