Froze laptop

Question

Hi Joed911
we have an xp disc and have loaded it but the keyboard and mouse pad are froze too so we cant click on promts so cant run it, cna i ask you is there anyway of retreiving the data off the hard drive some other way, im not bothered about the laptop as im having a new one at christmas but im desperate to recover my data.
we have also taken keypad off to check ribbon still attached and it is so its not that either >????????
any other suggestions plzzzzz
