Frozen Pixel. Should I return TV?

I have a TV I bought that has a red frozen pixel on it. I called the store and they said they are willing to exchange it but they recommended that I should keep the one I have because TV these days could be much worst. My question is are they saying that so I don't exchange the TV or are they right what I have is not bad compared to whats out there. The TV is a Tosibia 32" LCD. It had this red pixel from the first day I unboxed it. Thanks

  1. it really sounds like the person you talked to didn't know what they were talking about. You bought a new tv, and should be in new condition. Return it, get another one. I've owned many LCD TVA and have never gotten a frozen pixel, especially not since day one. It's a fairly uncommon issue with LCD TVs, you just had a little bad luck. Take it back, and make sure your new one is perfect, if not, return it again. It may even be that the sets were damaged during shipping to the store.

  2. I would definitely return it. I have a monitor with the same problem, I regret not returning it. It's very annoying. Return it, but you may want to try rubbing the spot, I've heard that works. The guy at the store is just trying to pawn it off on you. Take advantage of the offer, it's not like the TV will fix itself.

  3. As long as it's brand-new try to exchange it where you purchased it.  They may want to talk you out of it but tell them it's really a problem and ask what they can do about replacing it.

If the store refuses to help you ask the manufacturer what they can do, maybe they'll fix it or something.

It is true that quality-care will say it's ok with a couple stuck pixels so it is possible they'll refuse to fix it.  I'd try anyway though, it only costs a phone call (or trip to the store).

  4. It's one frozen pixel out of millions on your TV screen.

    Get over it.
