Question:

Frozen ball-bearings in PTO

Have a PTO finish mower that has set up for quite a while. The ball bearings in the yoke that attaches to the PTO on the tractor are frozen and will not release. Any idea on how to unstick them? I've got them coated in a penetrating oil.

  1. Go to PEP BOYS, and get a can of P B BLASTER, its a penetrating oil in a areoasaul can. This is the strongest desolvent you can buy. Just spray it all over/and /around the entire bearing assembly, and it will free up in no tme at all. Good Luck

  2. skin the bearing and race out with a torch then replace them.

  3. just keep putting wd-40 on it and move them back and forth. you might need to change them.
