Frozen controls on dvd player

Question

when initially setting up the player I inadvertantly chose shinese as the osd language. In trying to get back to English, i did something? which froze the controls. the machine will not repond to remote or onboard controls and I cannot get back to the setup screen. The screen only displays colored vertical lines. Is there a way to restore factory settings so I can start over again corefully? get back to original setting . The product is a Shinco SDP-1280 but I could not find that number on your valid product list
