Frozen zoom lens

Question

I have an 18-200mm zoom lens on y Maxxum 7D that has "frozen" or locked up, i.e., I can't move the zoom from the 18mm position. I've switched it to my Sony Alpha with same results. It just appears to be frozen & unmoveable from the 18mm position. Any suggestions as to what is wrong & how to fix it?
