Question:

Fruit Shoots?

My partners mother keeps giving my son the new mineral water fruit shoots when he's having his meal. I always give him cooled boiled water in a beaker and he's never refused it or disliked it. She see's the Fruit Shoot as a treat but im a bit worried about its sugar contect etc as my son is only 13 months! As soon as he see's the bottle she gives him, I try and slyly hide it from him but he cries and cries because he loves the taste of it and it tastes better than the water I give him. Please can someone tell me what age they think is acceptable to give this to a child and tell me what they think of my son having these drinks? I want something to go by when I take this away from my son as I know my partners mum will think im a b*tch for doing this!

  1. Hun i have to say i have just checked out the ingredients in these drinks and have to be honest there is nothing in them that will cause any harm they have no fat and very little sugar ..one every now and again won't hurt him check the link about them x

  2. with a healthy diet fruit shoots are fine, just dont give him one with a mcdonalds

  3. You are absolutly right!

I can only suggest you try to put him off it without this stupid woman seeing you. Show him a bottle and do summat scary  (but harmless) when he grabs for it. Put a drop of bitters, tonic water, summat that tastes nasty but won't hurt him in a fruitshoot bottle, let him have it, then be all concerned at his reaction.

    Good luck!
