There's some dried banana flakes in my cereal....can they eat them? Also, a comprehensive list of fruit and veg that they can and can't eat would be nice....I think they're sick of the mixed salad bags I buy them lol.

  3. In addition to the things listed above, two really random things that my Guinea pig just loved were kale and dried corn husks.

  4. sunflower seeds

    pumpkins seeds

    carrots

    lettuce

    celery

ummm... Not sure about much else

  5. I have never fed my guinea pid banana before, so i'm not sure about that one. But what i do know is that you MUST NOT feed your guinea pig patato. It is highly poisonous if they eat it!

You could try orange, as this is full of vitiman C

Also my guinea pig is a fan of cabbage, so you could try that one!

The obvious things are carrots, lettuce e..t.c

You could also give them, apples, cucumber and brocili. All of these will be appreciated by your guinea pig!

  6. Here is a link to a good site about fruit and vegetables http://www.jackiesguineapiggies.com/frui...  ..Look further down the page you will see

  7. Potatoes, Celery, Spinach, Carrots, Coconut, Apples, and Kelp are the best. You can also give him small bits of 100% Human Food Grade USDA Turkey. You can also add Organic Flaxseed for a healthy coat.

  8. The bag of salad you have is good, they can have that.

You should NEVER give them any dairy products or ANY meat products.  They are strict herbivores.  Contrary to other answers here, your piggies should also not eat seeds.  They are too high in fat and low in everything a cavy needs.  And don't feed potatoes, PLEASE.

You want to give them veggies with lots of vitamin C.  Green and yellow bell peppers, a few slices per pig per day, red bell pepper about 1 slice per pig per day.

Here is what *I* use for determining my boys' menus:

They can have strawberries and raspberries almost daily, but when it comes to bananas they should only have a small bit every other week or so, as too much banana can cause severe bloat.  I also give my boys a slice of apple once a week in place of strawberries.

For example, this morning my piggies had:

    1 Romaine leaf each

    2 leaves of escarole

3 baby green leaf lettuce leaves

    2 slices green bell pepper

    1/2" chunk cucumber

    For dinner, they're having:

green leaf lettuce, a small amount of kale or parsley per pig, 5-8 sprigs of cilantro, endive, and 1 slice red bell pepper.

For floor time and/or laptime, they get their baby carrot daily as a treat and more cilantro and corn husks and silks if I have them.

After dinner, they get their strawberry.  :)

    Also, never feed iceberg lettuce.
