  1. I've rarely seen them, and I don't know why they aren't sold in Ireland, they're lovely.

I don't think they grow here very well, it's not warm enough.

  2. You can get them in Tesco. For €4 a pack.

  3. I'm from Dublin and my local fruit and veg shop has them, as do Tesco and Lidl, I don't think I've ever bought any in Dunnes but I'm sure they stock them. Have never had a problem finding them. If theres a Tesco or Lidl near you go there.

  4. Because we all popped our cherries long ago.......

  5. Cherries have traditionally been considered "peasant food". It dates back to famine times, when locals, due to prevailing micro climates, were only able to grow potatos and cherries. The more delicious cherries were sold to pay rack rents, while the more watery, less desirable cherries, known as "chumpers", were kept for home consumption.

This led to bad p.r. for the humble cherry - its effects are still felt to this day.

p.s. you can buy them in tesco, lidl, and I would imagine, in most fruit and vegetable shops! :)

  6. ara shur we prefer da oul basic fruit (da spud, apple, banana and da orange!!!!!!
