  1. They should get about a cup of veggies per pig every day. Fruits should be feed more sparingly (once or twice a week) due to high sugar content. Here's a good list:

  2. Fruits FTW

  3. Kiwi fruit. Good source and inexpensive.

  4. Kale, a rule you can follow is the darker the leaf the more nurtitious it is. guineapigcages.com has a veggie chart.

Be careful of such rich veggies, variety is key, if you feed to much of one for example kale, it may result in sludge or stones. That is what the chart will help you avoid.

Alfalfa hay for the mom and babies is recommended although any type of hay is better than none.

keep her exercise up too. It will help prevent complications during birth. suggestions: Move her bowl and water far apart. Her hay should be away from those two things.

Guinealynx.com is a good site that has all sorts of information about guinea pigs. I recommend checking out the reproduction page.

Do Not give vitamin C water drops. They change the taste of their water and can deter a piggy from drinking the water they need, plus once they hit light they are useless anyway. Skip the wheels aswell, it is better to find natural ways to give your piggy what they need.

  5. oranges / broccoli

  6. Kale is one of the best forms of vitamin C and my piggies love it.  Also add Vitamin C drops to their water and get them pellets that have Vitamin C like Nutriphase.
