When I start my computer I log on then I wait for my computer to load then I start internet and look at my mail or something like that. Well my computer acts normal and I do the normal things except around 5 minutes after it starts the monitor automatically shuts off. It says "Automatic power saving shut off" and it shows a blank black screen.

I then restart and the same thing happens again. This has happened so many times that I know if its going to happen or not. When it starts to happen I try to stop it by pressing Ctrl + ALT + Delete but it doesnt work!

Please help me! I dont know what to do.

PS. I do not know if I have Automatic power shutting off mode on or off because when the monitor shuts off its only the monitor...not the keyboard or the mouse or the CPU.

PLEASE HELP ME!!! I AM WILLING TO GIVE 10 POINTS TO YOU!!!

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! I REALLY DO APPRECIATE IT!

  1. i don't think it has anything to do with the software or Ctrl+Alt+Del

if the monitor is kinda old it's normal to act like this, because it overheats and it turns off. Maybe you should get a new one... i dunno; that's my opinion!

  2. check the setting of your monitor and turn off power saver.

  3. Some type of 'Hibernating' is turnt on.

Check your monitor settings, aswell as your computer settings.

  5. Go into control panel, click power options, and see if th emonitor setting is set to turn itself off. This could be the problem. It sounds like a setting to me.

  6. Right click on the desktop, go to Properties, and then go to the Screen Saver tab. Under that, you should see a Power button. You might have a setting there that says shut down in 5 minutes, or something like that. If that is it, the setting could be in the BIOS, since each computer is different, I can't really help you there, but you could check that out too.
