Ezekiel Fryers has completed his move to Tottenham Hotspur as he arrived at Spurs’ training facilities yesterday to finalize the move from Manchester to North London.
The 19-year old left-back spent the day at Tottenham’s new training facilities and discussed the final details of his transfer. Fryers is expected to pen down a long term deal with Tottenham  before the weekend in a move that is set to infuriate Manchester
United staff and officials.
Fryers’ contract with United expired earlier this summer, and he refused to renew it with the club, stating United’s hesitance to meet his wage demands as the reason behind his refusal. Fryer’s instead opted for a move to the North London club.
The young defender accepted a £20,000-a-week contract from the North London club last week, and this caused some controversy as United and Tottenham had to settle the dispute at a tribunal.
United are expected to receive a development fee as compensation for losing the player, who they had brought up from their youth system. The dispute revolves around the valuation of the player, with United asking £6 million and Tottenham valuing him at £2
million.
The former United player primarily plays as a left-back, but can also operate in central defence. It is understood that the player has been promised first team action by Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas and is set to provide http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cameroon-c2865 international Benoit
Assou-Ekotto competition for a first team spot.
His departure has understandably infuriated United boss Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson. Fryers had apparently cut off contact with United ahead of their pre-season training earlier this month, following the expiration of his contract.
Speaking to MUTV, Ferguson had said:
"We haven't heard anything from Zeki Fryers. I don't know what's happening there but he's not been in touch with the club."
Fryers is the third high-profile youngster to have left Manchester United this season, with Ravel Morrison and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-c29347 Pogba having left for West Ham and Italian giants Juventus respectively.
He made his debut for United in a 3-0 win over Leeds United in last season’s Carling Cup match, and has managed six appearances for the club.
The youngster will be Tottenham’s third signing of the summer after the North London club acquired Icelandic international Gylfi Sigurdsson and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jan-Vertonghen-c17814 in the previous weeks.
