Die Knappen will take on French champions Montpellier in their next Champions League fixture at the Veltins-Arena on Wednesday, October 3. The German giants have already won their opening clash against Olympiacos and will be looking
to make it two wins in two games in Europe.
Schalke defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Fuchs-c9078, claimed that his side will go all out for a win in the Champions League fixture. However, he warned the team against any complacency and stressed that the French giants cannot be underestimated
at any cost.
The Austrian international insisted that even though the French champions have started the Ligue 1 season on a sorry note, they have the players and the potential to down any team in Europe. The player added that French sides are
very good in attack and Schalke cannot afford to be over confident in the next game.
“Montpellier haven't made that good a start to the league campaign, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. French teams are generally very good footballing sides and have great quality in attack,” he was quoted as saying in
an interview.
On the other hand, Fuchs stated that Die Knappen were very poor in their league game against Fortuna Dusseldorf when they lost their two-goal lead to end the game in a draw. He insisted that the team was heavily disappointed with
the performance against Dusseldorf and are looking to improve in their next game against Montpellier.
“We were all absolutely gutted after the final whistle. The 2-2 draw felt like a defeat. Having the day off on Sunday did us all good, as it allowed us to wind down a little and get over the disappointment ahead of an important
Champions League game,” he concluded.
