  1. Cheap isn't always the best.  Do your part and invest in the future...get something environmentally friendly that's affordable for you.  How about a bike?  Okay, how about doing something that will help you offset your carbon footprint if you choose to buy and drive an SUV?  Image will mean nothing when the planet has no resources.  Good luck!

  2. Fuel efficient and SUV go together like fire and ice.

  3. There is no such thing, and lifting it doesn't help. Even putting the leveling kit on our 05 Ford lost us like 4 MPG. The best one that has been around for awhile is always the 4 runner. Toyotas always get good mileage compared to a full size and I like the look a lot better than some of the other smaller SUVs. Do you really need the SUV? Can you go with a 4 door truck? Everyone in our family swears by them. I use our F-150 Lariat like an SUV and can fit 3 carseats across the back no prob. It also lets me haul all the stuff I need as a mom and part time Sand Quader. Consider a Toyota pick up. My brother lifted his 07 and it looks great. I hope this helped

  4. I don't think there's an SUV out there, any make or model, which gets "Great Gas Mileage", whether stock or lifted. I drive an SUV so I can say, from experience, that they are low gas mileage vehicles. Twenty MPG or so is about the best you can expect and that's only from the small ones. The bigger ones are just pure gas hogs.

  5. They make Hybrid SUV's.

Obviously they work best for people who need a big vehicle, but still want it to be fuel-efficient.

  6. Here are a few.

Honda Pilot 2WD 22 mpg highway

    Ford Explorer 2WD 22 mpg highway (4.0 V6)

Lifting the vehicle will reduce the mileage by 10-25%.

g*y looking is in the eye of the beholder. The Ford Escape Hybrid gets 35 mpg highway.

    Some other fine candidates are:

    GMC Suburban, 17 mpg highway

    Ford Expedition 17 mph highway,

You could go diesel and get better mileage but the price difference would take the mileage advantage away.

If you want a big SUV that gets great mileage you are headed in the wrong direction.

  7. ford now make a hybrid explorer that has a gas Electric motor try that one.
