i have 90 yamaha outboard motor, I'm in the process of cleaning the carbs, replacing all fuel lines, primer ball, gas tank, water and fuel seperator, and anyting else doing with the fuel. It use to have a oil pump...however I have never trusted them so i removed it, I want to make sure the motor is getting oil.

What type of fuel should I always use in the outboard?

  1. I AGREE WITH THE FIRST ANSWER, BUT WOULD USE 89 OCTANE. FUEL LOSES OCTANE WHEN IT SITS A WHILE

  2. unless you have a manual for that specific motor that says otherwise, use 87 octane gasoline mixed 50:1 with TCW3 certified oil.

highly recommend treating the fuel with seafoam, stabil, or yamaha's ring-free.

  3. Use the fuel you normally use. but I agree, with Jtexas.  Use a stabilizer like Stabil.   BOL

  4. regular

    50 to 1

thats 15.36 oz of oil tcw-3 to 6 gallons of gas, but you can use 16 oz of oil
