what kind of preparations do you need to do to go from pulling one semi trailer to pulling one semi plus two other trailers known as 'triples'

what kind of mpg can you expect. what additional rules and regs do you need to be familiar with?

  1. The D.O.T. has established vehicle limits of: 102 inches wide, 13.5 feet in height, and 80,000 lbs gross weight.

    These limits can be exceeded as individual states have the right to issue temporary oversize and/or overweight permits.

  2. You will need a doubles and triples endorsement on your class A CDL. Your fuel economy should be about the same or better. The reason being, most doubles and triples are relitively light loads and triples are only allowed on certain interstate highways that are relitively flat
