Fuel injection cleaner reducing mileage?

I have a 1992 Mazda 626 and like everyone else, I want better milage. One solution I tried was to use valvoline fuel system cleaner. My car was getting 24 mpg before i used the cleaner. after using the cleaner my milage actually dropped down to 21 mpg. Any thoughts or advice on getting more mpg?

It may just be a coincidence, winter gas sometimes saps mileage. I doubt fuel injector cleaner will make you get better gas mileage for that tank you add it in, most likely the tanks thereafter the cleaning is done.

try QMI fuel cleaner, it does a good job. if it does not help, check the injectors, nozzles may be worn and over spray.
