My friend and I are tuning up my Explorer and the last thing we have to do is change the fuel filter. My friend is a mechanic for a dealership so he knows what hes doing but the fuel line wont release from the filter. He has the right tool to release the fuel line, and he tried for an hour but the line wont release.

  1. sometimes you have to play with it... depending upon who changed it last, I've had too many speedy lubes jam it with so much force I've had to beat them off, but usually taking the tool, circling around with some penatrent and shoving in on the filter gets them to release

  2. there is probably a bit of rust build up in there...spray with wd 40...then give it a shot..

    Good luck!

  3. Make sure you have the right sized tool for the job. Theu cost about eight bucks at a auto parts store. Find the right sized one push it in twist and pull the line off.
