why do we like hi speed cars so much

does it have to go super fast off the line

or top speed better

of course once we use it is is gone

We like it because we want to know the fast speed is there when we need it. For instance you stop at a red light and notice you have to get 3 lanes over in one block to make you turn. So the light turns green and you rush ahead of all traffic and get over. In a less powerful car, you would not be able to do it. When you have a high speed car it is better performer at lower speeds and acceleration.

There are two places that there is simply no substitute for horsepower.

1) Entrance ramps with stop lights at the bottom of them that require that a hole shot be done in order  to get into the flow of existing traffic.

2) Passing on two lane roads where the oncoming traffic lane is also the passing  lane .The name of that game is to spend the least amount of time  possible in that lane-and that requires horsepower
