  1. Much as I hate to admit it, fuel prices are not under our, or any governments control. The price of oil is set by OPEC, based on the laws of supply and demand.

It is down to the government how much tax is applied to petrol (about 70%), but I don't see any current Euopean government in this eco-n**i era daring to REDUCE the tax on fuel, do you?

P.S. If you think voting them out would do the slightest bit of good, you're kidding yourself on, I'm afraid. Things would be exactly the same under the Tories, or God forbid, the Lib Dems.

  2. I think you will find a lot of peopl bit*h and moan about fuel price increases too!

  3. the problem is that we british no longer stick together, look at 2001 the fuel protests I was working in a gargage the night it  hapened I took over £40K in CASH that night with a lot of hassle on the forecourt though! now it's nearly £1.15 a litre and noone is doin anything! WHY I am nw the transport manager of a haulage company and we are finding it really hard with the intro of the LEZ in london and raising fuel pricese but our rates don't go up ( drastically reducing our profit margin) over half of our earnings are spent on fuel

Come on britain lets take control of our country

all lorrys should park up on the M25 refuse to go into london if they want supplies come and get it, how is the average working man or women to survive with all this tax on fuel and not only petrol and deisel but gas, electricity need i go on

COME ON BRITAIN LETS STICK TOGETHER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE WE ALWAYS USED TO

  4. Fuel is volatile and highly inflammable! So, people get inflamed about safer things.

  5. Maybe you aren't listening.. several people are disgrunted with fuel prices.. it is a topic where ever you go..

  6. dont know where you live but here in W. A we have a price watch where i can log on or get an email about where the cheapest fuel price is each day i watch for when the fuel goes down to its lowest and which service station *** they all differ

and that is the one and day i go to get fuel

it will go up sky high next week as its easter so i will be fueling up early

  7. I agree with you 100% and have already written to my MP

  8. what effective measure do you suggest to bring fuel prices down baby?!

  9. Wow, did you sleep through all the fuel protests?

  10. A lot of people DO moan about the price of fuel. We see lots of questions ( rants ) about the subject on this site. I should know because i generally get shot for stating that fuel prices cannot be a real problem for people because they continue to make unnecessary journeys.

People cannot really complain about the price of fuel and then drive 50 miles to shop at blue water. If it was really that bad, people would not make the journey. Or they would temper thier driving style to conserve fuel - they don't.

And thats the difference between real concern and "moaning".

when the government sees real concern and an impact on day-to-day life, they will consider altering the tax on fuel. Until then, they will just see people as moaning.

People say "i can't afford it"...yes you can, you buy it. "cant afford it" literally means you cannot buy it because you have no money to buy it.

if you CHOOSE to buy it and make unnecessary journeys, you CAN afford it, you just choose to moan about it as well.

cheap fuel is not a god-given -right

I don't know why you think its the Labour governments fault. You're in for a shock if you think any party in power will lower the fuel tax by a meaningful amount

  11. numpty petrol went up 17p a litre this year and deisel went up 20p a litre everybody complains

  12. I'm always complaining about fuel prices and not just for my car. My heating oil has just cost me £269 for 500 litres. I filled my oil tank up when it was first installed 3 years ago and it cost me £180 for 13,000 litres! Whats going on? Are we all going to freeze to death too?

  13. People ***** about both. I am disgusted with the fuel prices going up as am shortly due to get a car. When you are out in the middle of nowhere and public transport is c**p and you depend on a car, it sucks.

However, alot of people these days do use buses and trains to get to work etc, and not cars. So when they are raised (like where I live), course they will complain!

  14. huh
