  1. The Canadian Oil Buisness has expressed an interest in turning Green so U.S. ones might as well.

The protesters are right in that Gas Prices are high but  the reason is there is less oil. The protesters could also protest about a lack of Government subsidies to replace cars with Green Alternitives. To achieve this aim to vote for The Green Party might be an option. The candidate for a Green Party would be against war maybe in favour of abolishing it which would free up more money for Gov subsidies to replace trucks and remove high gas prices as a problem for Long Distance Haulers of produce and such. Other methods to use trains more to haul things.

  2. definately right. i live in the countryside, i need my car, and the price of fuel is extortionate.

  3. they right..liberal/Dims are wrong not to allow immediate drilling on all federal lands, onshore and off....we need oil...not wind turbines

  4. Green? Why not haul everything by Oxen, that's very green. Although it might take two weeks to get that order from Amazon deliverd.

    Support our truckers. 10-4 ?

  5. Right. Going green is nice but it needs to be be worked into the system over time not by destroying lives and economies.

  6. Right!

  7. some may have gone green, but diesel and petrol still required to use as fuel  wso yeah i agree more will go up soon,

  8. The fuel protesters are right of course.  The going green is just a red herring for the Government to get more money out of us.  The carbon emissions fro UK are minuscule in comparison with countries like US, China, and India and what we save will have no difference on the planet.  Someone mentioned bio fuels but the problems with getting fuel from soya is that it takes acres and acres of the beans to produce very little fuel and these acres are required to feed people.  The high taxes on fuel and on motorists in general is just a way of getting more money for the government to squander.

  9. Here's the thing we do need to be going green but it seems like everytime someone comes with a concept for going green the oil companies have used their lobbyist money to shut it down, for example, here in Texas Willie Nelson had plants that created bio-diesal which was made from soy beans and trucks did not need to be converted to use it, however the Texas Reps created a law saying that he could not distribute it so he only able to sell it through the 2 truck stops that he is partnered with.

  10. Considering the fact that most of the 'green lobby' people are employed by this government what is the real validity of their claims ?. Many people now believe that it is a tax gathering racket thought up by that master of extortion Brown and his spin doctors. It is only because the French fishermen  are striking and bringing chaos to the Channel Ports that Sarkozy is talking about getting the EU to reduce the duties on fuel. Now that the Spanish and Greek fisherman are likely to follow suit how long before the EU act ?.

  11. I believe they do have a point for there are so many hauliers who are on the verge of going out of business. Fuel costs impinge upon our whole existence and the government are aware how elastic our demand is. I am sure most of us would budget carefully on other essential things to allow us to use our cars. I am d**n sure the government will continue to punish drivers for they know we can take substantially more punishment before we have to walk or use public transport.

It would appear that mermbers of parliament have no problem using their cars for they receive massive remuneration of expenses.

  12. Well Gordon Brown should either shift his backside and help bring fuel costs down, while also trying to help scientists develop car and lorry friendly fuel which is almost not-bad for the environment.

  13. You can split the question into hauliers and the general public.

The costs of transporting food are paid for by the consumer, so the hauliers/farmers/fishermen protest is in our best interests. It's a stealth tax.

Continually hiking the cost of motoring, when they could cap the engine size of cars is greed, there is no need for 4X4's on British roads outside of the rescue services, but public transport is disgusting in this country. There is scope for a medium way.

"Green", is an ideal, but short of nuking China and India, how do you stop them exploiting the competitive weakness of green energy?

Take that into account and fuel costs would drop cutting the emissions of developing countries by reducing their global market; we might even start selling them stuff not used in warfare; now there's a thought?
