Fuerteventura, has anyone been?

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what Fuerteventura is like for a Holiday, I'm thinking about taking my Fiancee' there in August but don't know what it's like.

we went earlier this year - its a lovely island, great weather, friendly people.  just be careful on deciding your hotel, we chose a very child friendly one (we took our small children) and it would not be ideal for a couple

From what i can recall (as i visited the destination when i was a child), it is extremely hot, certainly in the summer and the island has superb beach's.

Miles of pure, sandy beaches; sometimes very windy. Temperatures do not vary much; 20/23deg. in winter, 23/30, in summer. Nudity is common away from crowded areas. Some night-life in Corralejo, in the north, and Jandia, in the south.
