Fujitsu amilo d1845, Windows xp start up problems

Question

hi
I am trying to put windows Xp on my laptop but i am haveing no luck.
as it just freezes at the WINDOWS XP logo and the progress bar just stops.
The screen seems darker as if win xp has not full apeared.
I have had problems with:
Win98..........(had to delete network to get in, but gave up on that)
Win ME........Just crashes whilst installing it
Win XP Home ...Just freezes at logo
Win XP Pro........same as above
Win XP Pro Upgrade....same as above
Windows 98 Second Edition.... worked fine

Tryied changing memory and harddrives still the same

any ideas
