Fulbright looking for a hat-trick by succeeding in Betfred Mile (Heritage Handicap)
Fulbright will be chasing a hat-trick of victories in the Betfred Mile (Heritage Handicap) at Goodwood in England on Friday, August 3, 2012. The triumphant horse will get a cash prize of £77,813 in the end.
The class-2 event is scheduled to start at 15:10 GMT and it has attracted 20 runners towards it. Their stamina will be out to a test, as the overall distance to cover will be 1 mile. Furthermore, the going will be good, which will please a lot of participants.
Although there are some extremely competitive runners lined up for action in the race, yet they will have to be at their best in order to outperform Fulbright, who is carrying a terrific momentum right now. The bookmakers realise that he can be a force to
reckon with at Goodwood, thus they have given him a general starting price of 9 to 1. On the other hand, the bettors should also not hesitate while risking money in his favour.
The three-year-old colt debuted in May 2011 and has been delivering some positive results for his team since then. He started off his career on a high, securing the third spot in his very first run.
This was quite a good result for the Mark Johnston’s trainee, who followed that up with a couple of back-to-back victories. He was not rated as the favourite to succeed in either of them, but still managed to cause an upset at the end of the day.
Despite starting his career on a high, Fulbright struggled to maintain the high standards and his form dipped to a great extent. He still managed to finish third in his last race of the 2011 season, which would have given him some confidence.
The start to 2012 was not an ideal one for the young runner, as he performed miserably and ended up 14th out of 19 participants. However, he responded well to pressure and won the very next race.
Exceed And Excel’s son had to wait for a couple of more events before finding his best form. He is now looking in a great shape, winning the previous two races he took part in. Veteran jockey, Silvestre De Sousa, will be helping him out to complete a hat-trick
today.
