Fulham manager, Mark Hughes, has insisted that striker, Bobby Zamora, will not fear the Wolverhampton Wanderers when his team visit’s the Molineux on Saturday, April 23, 2011.
Zamora suffered a broken leg through a harsh tackle from Karl Henry, when the two sides met in the reverse fixture of the season almost six months back. The striker had to miss out on the action for more than five months with the injury.
Since returning from the injury in March, the striker has scored three goals for the club but still has not fully recovered from the physical scars. However, Hughes believes that the striker is mentally ready for the clash and has put the injury out of his
mind.
Talking to reporters Hughes said, “I think any sense of trepidation was going to be prevalent when he first went on the pitch," said Hughes, who has eased Zamora back into action over the last two months and revealed he would not be 100 percent fit until
next season.
"He's got over that hurdle and now it's just about making sure he's progressing in every game he plays to make sure he's firing on all cylinders. Trepidation doesn't come into it. There's no apprehension in his play, he's going into tackles, and he’s getting
around the pitch, so I think he's over that."
Hughes added that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zamora-c40983 has no grudges against the Wolves midfielder because it was not a poor tackle and the striker was unlucky to have suffered an injury from it. The former Manchester City manager added that his team really missed the inspirational
striker because had he been fit, the club would not have struggled in the relegation zone. The 30-year-old striker played a huge role in guiding the Cottagers to the final of the UEFA Europa League in the 2009/10 season.
Hughes is confident that Zamora’s return will push the team to finish the season confidently and at least two wins in the remaining matches would take his team into the top half of the Premier League table.
