The American has launched scathing criticism at the London club, claiming that the officials have projected a negative image of him in the media.
Clint Dempsey, who was the top scorer at Craven Cottage last season, finally completed a much awaited move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer, after a long-lasting transfer saga.
The attacker had voiced his desire to play in the UEFA Champions League on many occasions and after shining in the Premier League last time out, he had made up his mind and stated his intent to leave the Cottagers.
Fulham did not take the news well and with him being the star of the show, they initially refused to sanction a switch. Dempsey then showed his determination and refused to play for the team until things were sorted.
After protracted negotiations, he agreed to sign for cross-town rivals Tottenham, the same club where former teammate Moussa Dembele also arrived.
While the Whites regained some of the fee they had paid out for the American International, they were clearly tired of the player’s antics and lamented his actions in the media.
Now, Dempsey has also hit back, claiming that the club have not properly revealed the decision behind the move and instead have chucked baseless accusations at his reputation.
“Everyone has the right to their own opinion, but I put in some good work there, put in a good five-and-a-half years, and I’m happy with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 that I did there. I put everything into every game and that’s what I’ve always done my whole career. I’ll look
back at my time [at Fulham] with no regrets.”
“I’m disappointed with the way things ended and how I was portrayed in the end, but that’s in the past now. I just want to thank the fans for five-and-a-half great years and thank the chairman for taking a chance on me from MLS. I’ll always look back at
my time there with a smile on my face,” he said.
Now at White Hart Lane, he has the chance to play in the UEFA Europa League and aim for a top four position, as the Spurs look to get over their Harry Redknapp hangover with Andre Villas-Boas’ arrival.
