Fulham manager Martin Jol offers Bobby Zamora his support – Premier League Update
Fulham manager Martin Jol has gone ahead and offered his support to English forward, Bobby Zamora.
The striker went on to miss an open goal in the team’s outing last week against Everton and as a result, the team went on to lose their game by three goals to one, mainly due to the team not capitalizing on the opportunities that they had.
During the game against Everton, when the game was level at one goal apiece, Zamora went on to round the Everton keeper and then with just the goal to shoot at. The striker sent his effort well over the bar. As a result, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 built on the miss and from there on got back into the game as they scored two late goals to win the match.
Instead of badmouthing his player, Jol has gone on to admit that it is perfectly normal for players to end up missing some clear cut opportunities from time to time and as a result, he is not blaming the striker for anything.
"He knows it is probably not the first time," Jol said.
"He is a striker, so he will miss chances in the future.
"Anybody else up front will miss chances, and even from midfield. So I couldn't see any difference (in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zamora-c40983)."
The manager then went on to shower praises towards Bryan Ruiz, who seems to be fitting into the club brilliantly. The winger cost the team ten million pounds, but his performances have been well worth that amount paid for him.
When talking about the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Costa-c9458 Rican, Jol is quoted to have said: "I feel it is a sign for anybody else, the media, the fans, that he is capable of scoring that sort of goal.
"But I knew. That is why we got him over here because he has got that extra talent of setting up goals and scoring goals."
So far Fulham have made a decent start to the Premier League campaign, but the team is now going to have to maintain the form that they have shown early on in the season, in hopes of trying to land a European spot at the end of the season.
