Fulham versus Liverpool – First half review: English Premier League (Part 1)
Fulham kicked off their 36th English Premier League game of the season against Liverpool on 10th of May, 2011 with several offensive changes to their line up. Mark Hughes set out Fulham in a 4-4-2 formation.

On the other hand, Liverpool welcomed back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jamie-Carragher-c17728 lined up alongside Martin Skrtel and John Flanagan started as the Reds first choice left back. In the center of
the park, Kenny Dalglish opted to use Lucas Leiva and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dirk-Kuyt-c11348 were deployed as the away
side’s two strikers.
Liverpool required a win before the match started in order to move above Tottenham back into the fifth place spot whereas Fulham needed a favourable result in order to leap frog Bolton and Stoke City into the 8th place
in the Premier League ranking. The match kicked off at a ferocious pace as Liverpool pushed onwards in search of a goal. The away side wasted no time in drawing first blood as Kenny Dalglish’s men scored in the very first minute of the encounter.
Luis Suarez was the architect of the goal as he slipped past Carlos Salcido on the left wing. The Uruguayan striker had the presence of mind to find Maxi Rodriguez on the far post inside the Fulham penalty area. Despite the fact
that the Argentinean midfielder failed to score with his initial attempt, he pounced on the rebound and slotted the ball home after Schwarzer mishandled the ball.
In the 2nd minute of the match, Danny Murphy went into the book for a reckless tackle on Lucas Leiva. The Englishman protested his innocence in the aftermath of the challenge but the referee waved him away as frustration
began to grow within Fulham’s ranks after conceding an early goal at Craven Cottage.
