Fulham versus Liverpool – Second half review: English Premier League (Part 2)
In the aftermath of Dembele’s goal for Fulham, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-Reina-c29672 was booked by the referee as he picked up the ball in his hands as refused to part with it. The referee saw this as a time wasting exercise and immediately booked the former
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 goalkeeper. Dembele’s goal brought the score line to 1-3 at Craven Cottage as Fulham were given lift due to their first goal of the encounter.
In the 61st minute, Fulham’s right back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-Salcido-c8533 went into the referee’s book for a late sliding tackle on Luis Suarez. The former Ajax forward made the most of the challenge by rolling around on the ground and
his theatrics influenced referee’s decision in the end. In the 62nd minute, Bobby Zamora used his physical presence to gain a corner out of Liverpool’s young full back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonathan-c18993 Flanagan.
The corner was whipped in by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-c10193 Murphy as Clint Dempsey rose to meet it but the American midfielder failed to make a solid contact with the ball as Liverpool eventually cleared their lines. In the 65th minute, Bobby
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zamora-c40983 out muscled Martin Skrtel but the Liverpool defender brought the Englishman down to the ground. The referee spotted this infringement and duly brandished a yellow card for the center back.
In the 66th minute, Fulham opted to make their second change of the match as Eidur Gudjohnsen made way for Andy Johnson in the home team’s attack. Regardless, Fulham’s hopes of completing a late comeback were put to
bed in the 70th minute as Maxi Rodriguez completed his hatrick. The Argentinean midfielder was given time and space on the ball just outside the Fulham penalty area as he let loose a thunderous shot at Mark Schwarzer’s goal.
Despite the Australian goalie’s best efforts, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s midfielder got his third goal of the night as the score line reached 4-1 at Craven Cottage. Five minutes later in the 75th minute, Luis Suarez completed the rout
as the Uruguayan striker was played in by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonjo-Shelvey-c19081. Suarez took the ball in his stride and then finished the move off with a comprehensive shot.
Late on Fulham did get a consolation goal through Steve Sidwell’s long ranged strike. The ex-Chelsea playmaker tried his luck on goal from 25 yards out and hit the jackpot as his shot sailed into the top right hand corner of the
net. Nonetheless, his goal made little difference to the final score as the match finished 2-5 in favour of Liverpool.
