Fulham vs. Liverpool: EPL - Match Preview
Fulham are set to welcome the in-form team of the English Premier league, Liverpool, are on a road to revival under their inspirational manager, Kenny Dalglish. The Reds look a whole different team from the one that started the season and spent some time in the relegation zone.
Fulham boss, Mark Hughes, is determined to keep his team focused as the season comes to a close and the side’s final three games are not just crucial for his team, but for his own job at the club.
The London club has secured their status in the top division for one more season, as they got to the mark of 40 points by beating Sunderland last weekend, 3-0. Hughes believes that there may be a chance that his players may have a more relaxed mindset after avoiding relegation, but he wants them to stay on their feet when Liverpool come to Craven Cottage.
Hughes believes that managing to stay in the Premier League is not enough and he is determined to urge his team to go on and get maximum points from their last three games. The former Manchester City boss said that he wants his team to end the season in the top half of the table and to complete the task they would have to win all of their remaining games.
He said, “If we get maximum points out of every game we have left then I think that's the highest total ever that a Fulham team has reached in the Premier League. So that's a challenge for us and that's something that we'll use as a motivation going into these last three games.”
Hughes said that when his team beat Bolton, even then they had almost secured the top flight status. He expects much more from his team and that is why he will not allow them to relax and take last three games for granted. The former Welsh international footballer said that when his team went out to play against Sunderland, he saw the hunger and desire in them to perform and get more wins under their belt. He added that against a side like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, they would need the same mental attitude to secure another win.
Liverpool, on the other hand is also on a good run, as the team from Mersey side did not have the best start to the season. Ever since Roy Hodgson was let go and manager, Kenny Dalglish took over the club, the mood and attitude of the club has changed.
The team that was lingering on the relegation zone at the start of the season now has a realistic chance of making it to the Europa League. They have beaten big teams like Manchester United, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Manchester City in their excellent run in last couple of months and now, with three games remaining, the side is ready to make the final push for a European place.
The inclusion of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll has also had a positive effect on the team and both of them are expected to start the game for the Reds. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Raul-Meireles-c30678 has been a revelation in the mid-field, while Maxi Rodriguez has suddenly found an eye for goal. Liverpool surely will be a difficult opponent for Fulham and the side would have to be on their game, if they are to keep the resurgent Reds at home.
