Aaron Hughes believes Andy Carroll has got it all
Fulham defender Aaron Hughes feels that Andy Carroll could be a key player for England as he prepares for his debut against France on Wednesday 17 November.
The former Newcastle player claims that Carroll has got everything to succeed at the international level and he expects the striker to threaten France.
Speaking to the Shields Gazette, Hughes said: "He's not only got height, he's got the timing to go with it. He gets up there and hangs, and wins most things in the air. He's got good feet on the
floor, and can finish. He's got everything you want from a striker, and he's got age on his side.”
Hughes returned to St James Park as a Fulham player and the defender admitted that it is never easy playing against a player like Carroll.
Fulham managed to record a 0-0 draw with Newcastle in the Premier League and they will consider the score line a good result against an in-form Newcastle team.

“We knew they'd cause problems, and being a central defender, you know what you're up against with Andy Carroll, he's a constant threat, he's got everything you want in a striker," said Hughes.
France will aim to stifle the big striker’s physical presence and the central defence may aim to double up on the player.
Carroll’s discipline has also been called into question in the past and this is something that England manager Fabio Capello and Newcastle manager Chris Hughton will be keen to address.
Hughes believes that Carroll will improve and get better. The defender also suggested that training with the England squad and playing at international level will improve the forwards game and help him
mature as a player.
"He'll only get better, and being in the England squad will only help him. He'll be around for a long time," said Hughes.
