  1. FMA is one of the best anime's ever. And what's even better is the creator is making a SEQUEL to the series right now!

There is a lot of emotional parts. But I think if I tell you that I might give away major spoilers. You get to see the trials and tribulations that Edward and Alphonse go through. Edward is the Fullmetal Alchemist (because he has an automail arm and leg) and the robot looking thing is his brother, Alphonse Elric. He's not actually a robot, but a suit of armor. His soul was attached to the suit of armor by his brother, Edward. Ed and Al tried to bring their Mother back from the dead after they lost her to an incurable illness. They used alchemy to do it and when they summoned the Gate Of Truth, the gate almost stole Alphonse's life. Ed moved quick enough to attach Al's soul to the suit of armor and in the process of doing so, he sacrificed his own arm and leg. It was an equivalent exchange. They did not succeed in bringing their Mother back like they should have, but instead created something (I can't tell you what. I don't want to spoil it for you!)

There are a lot of emotional parts in the series and also you can see a lot of romantic relationships between select characters. Such as Van Hohenheim (Ed and Al's Dad) and their Mother (Trisha Elric), you can also see relationships between Mattias and his lover but that doesn't really go indepth. There's also Maes Hughes and his wife. And of course there is little bit of chemistry going on between Roy Mustang and Riza Hawkeye (both military members) but you can't really tell unless you pay attention. Oh and Ed has mixed feelings for Winry (but that isn't really obvious (moreso in the manga than the anime.)

The anime itself is more action than anything. I also have to admit that it has a lot of angst in it? A lot of emotion. All I can say is, it will pull you in to the point where you can't stop watching it until you finish it. All in all it is a very, very sad anime when you get right down to it. But it's totally worth it. I love the anime so much that I have two FMA tattoos and have cosplayed three characters at six different conventions. Also, when you finish the series, you should check out the movie!

  2. i was thinking about half of your question all i know is the blond guy is edward and the "piece of metal" [LOL] is his brother alfonz

ed and al tried to revive their mom using alchemy and obviously it didn't work now al is this suit of armor and ed has a metal arm and metal leg. i forgot why EXACTLY but they are looking for this philosopher stone.

i did not cry but it was sad when

    *SPOILER**SPOILER**SPOILER*

    *SPOILER**SPOILER**SPOILER*

    *SPOILER**SPOILER**SPOILER*

    Maes Hughes get killed

  3. It's an action story. little romance but he does have a crush on Winry Rockbell.

The mental guy's name is Edward Elric and he's a state Alchemist.

His little brother Alphones Elric lost is body when they tried to use Alchemy to bring their mother back from the dead.

Now  they're out to try and get ther bodies back.

After losing their mother, Alphonse and Edward Elric attempt to bring her back using the forbidden science of human alchemy. However, alchemy operates on the theory of equivalent trade, and breaking the human alchemy taboo carries a heavy price. Ed loses his leg, and Al loses his body. Ed is able to seal Al's soul inside of a huge suit of armor, at the cost of his arm. Years later, Ed (now with two mechanical limbs) and Al (still trapped in the armor) leave their childhood home, each brother concerned with the other's happiness. Ed, who has a natural talent and skill for alchemy, becomes nationally certified and is soon known everywhere as the "Fullmetal Alchemist." Their true objective is to search for any information on the fabled Philosopher's Stone, hoping it will allow them to regain their old bodies. All of their hopes rest with this mythical stone, which may not even exist at all. However, the brothers soon learn that they are not the only ones after the powerful stone.

  4. Well acutely I had thought the same thing at first too when I saw some parts of it it didn't really show anything I like, but after watching it from the start it was really good and fun to watch.

But ya I think that there are defiantly some really emotional parts through out the whole anime,a lot of the time because about there past and the bonds between brothers, and it really show it through there journey.

And well there really isn't that much romance in it I mean at some parts you can see how someone might feel about the other but other then that not really, they just show how they feel about each other.

And well that piece of metal is actually Ed (the blond haired characters)brother. You see as children there mother had an illness and at one point had died because of this, and unfourantly there father wasn't around at the time to help them, but because of there knowglede of alchemy and my reading a few books from what there father had left behindf they wanted to try and bring there mother back from the dead, but using alchemy, however upon trying  to use it it went horribly wrong, when doing it they had needed to give something in equal exchange for it to work, and his brother (Al) was used as a sacrifice and so was Ed's leg, however he sacrificed his own arm in order to bring his brother back, and had took his brother's soul and sealed it to armor as that was the closest thing Ed could fine to use to save his brother, after that Ed had got a mechanical arm and leg called auto-mail and his brother is now in a suit of armor and they later seek a stone that would help them in retrieving there original bodies back. Later Ed and Al are presented from someone called Mustang who is actually the works for the state, because of Ed's talents he was given a chance in order to become a state alchemist, which is an alchemist who works for the state,Ed takes the exam and passes it would with ease, who takes this oppruratnly to find more information on the stone that both brothers seek called the philosophers stone, with this they are able to preform alchemy with any restrictions, and car able to transmute whatever they want, and they want to use it to have there old bodies, back they wouldn't be able to do without it.

  5. Lol the piece of metal is his brother. Al (the blonde guy) tried to bring his mother back from the dead using alchemy but it didn't work and his brother ended up losing his body (or something like that) and so Al made that metal suit and put his brother in it. (his soul or something) I think its a pretty emotional anime. I cant remember if there is any romance or not. sorry

  6. Watch the first episode for the information on the metal guy, there's ultra minimal romance almost non existent not important enough to state. There are some moments that can make you cry and there are some others that make you cringe it's a very good anime. I'd recommend watching it it's long but fairly interesting.
