Full Shilling favourite for Magners Handicap (Div I), Ever The Optimist looking strong in Div II at Nottingham
Full Shilling is in full swing following her wonderful success at Chepstow and holds a fine chance of bagging the cash prize in the Magners Handicap (Div I), taking place at Nottingham on Thursday, June 14, 2012.
The punters don’t have much time to make their mind, as the action is about to begin. The 6f15y event is scheduled to begin at 14:30 (GMT). Ten quality runners are all set to pursue a handsome cash prize worth £1,941.
Among Full Shilling’s opponents in the class 6 meeting are: Les Verguettes, Dancing Welcome, Dancing Maite, Zafonic Star, Red Scintilla, Ridgeway Sapphire, Bartley, Greyemkay and Striking Priorite.
Full Shilling struggled to find the right rhythm on her seasonal debut in April. She failed to adjust her game according to the conditions at Wolverhampton and as a result, finished seventh behind Powerful Pierre.
An embarrassing outcome would have dented her confidence, but the John Spearing-trained did not show any rustiness last time out. She maintained the highest standards all the way through and seized the top rank by 2¾ lengths.
Full Shilling won nicely enough to make the bookmakers believe that she can go in again. With most of the runners struggling with their form, it might be an easy triumph for the maverick filly.
Magners Handicap (Div II) will be kicked off at 15:05 (GMT). An upset is unlikely in the Div I, but the latter competition will be full of surprises. In search of a purse worth £1,941, almost a dozen contestants are all set to show their magic and their
names are as follows:
Big Wave, Errigal Lad, Yanza, Reginald Claude, Ever The Optimist, Our Monica, Jack Smudge, Louis Vee, Berrymead and Depden.
Big Wave has earned the highest starting price following her wonderful work this season. Errigal Lad is also full of confidence after a recent strike.
However, the conditions are unlikely to favour both of them and the platform is set for Ever The Optimist, who has a great chance of recording his maiden success.
There are possibilities about Tony Newcombe’s trainee, who is yet to justify his talent. We wish the best of luck to everyone.
