  1. they will check for ethyrocytes (red blood cells)  leukocytes (white blood cells/immune system related), haemacrit ratio (ratio of red to white cells), and platelets

  2. cbc (complete blood count) consists of a wbc (white blood cell count), rbc( red blood cell count), hgb(hemoglobin), hct (hematocrit), MCV, MCH, MCHC (the red blood cell indices), plt (platelet count), and either an automated differential or a manual differential.  The differential is a 100 cell count of the wbcs which consists of neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils and a red cell morphology.  the difference in a manual diff and an automated diff is that a manual diff is done by a tech and an automated is done by the instrument.  a manual diff is only done if the automated diff count is flagged as abnormal.

  3. EDTA is the type of tube used to collect blood.

the test on the other hand is composed of both complete blood count..(Hb:hemoglobin, RBC: red blood cells, WBC: white blood cells, lymphocytes, platelets...) and differential blood count ( Neutrophils, eosinophils, monocytes, basophils..).

this test is cheap and done in almost all laboratories.

  4. EDTA is Ethylenediamine Teraacetic Acid that is an additive in a lavender tube.......not the tube itself.

The test itself is uncomfortable if you dont like your blood being taken. But after the test you should be fine. During the test avoid stress because it can cause changes in normal hemogram values. make sure you are hydrated, and fasting is not necessary but fat-laden meals may alter some test results.
