  1. Personally, I'd suggest going for your CBT then doing your full test as soon as possible! They're planning on making the test a bit harder but have deferred it for another 6 months or so. Which gives you plenty of time. Get a really cheap 125, not the Hyosung or Apilla (they can both be awkward if you don't know how to keep them going at home). I bought a cheap trail bike that cost me £350 until I passed my test on the 22nd of July. Then I bought a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R but needed it restricted as I'm only 18. But at 26 you could take a Direct Access course if you wanted and move onto any size bike you like. Only issue is, you'll be straight onto the high power and it might slip you. So it depends if you feel up to going onto a fully powered bike or being restricted on BHP for 2 years. I don't think you should really try buying anything expensive for a 125, its just not worth it before a test. Depends on your financial situation though!

As you're new at riding, just try to get a bit of practice on something you won't terribly mind if you crash. Try something around the £300-500 mark! Also depends on what sorta bike you fancy when you're older, be it a sports bike or cruiser. So keep that in mind while buying a cheap practice bike!

    Best of luck
