  1. Yes, those are fully automatic assault weapons.

  2. yes they can be...  the question is very vague...

  3. Both are good weapons. I prefer the AK

  4. According to Wikipedia (which I recognize as a less-than credible source, at times):

"An assault rifle is a selective fire rifle or carbine (not to be confused with a semi-automatic only replica) firing ammunition with muzzle energies intermediate between those typical of pistol and high-powered rifle ammunition. Assault rifles are the standard small arms in most modern armies, having largely replaced or supplemented larger, more powerful battle rifles, such as the World War II-era M1 Garand and SVT-40. Examples of assault rifles include the AK-47, the M16 rifle, the FAMAS and the Steyr AUG. Semi-automatic rifles, including commercial versions of the AR-15, and "automatic" rifles limited to single fire only, even though incorrectly classified in the United States as assault rifles by the now defunct 1994 Assault Weapons Ban, are not assault rifles as they are not selective fire. Belt-fed weapons or rifles with fixed magazines are also generally not considered assault rifles."

I am assuming that you were wanting the definition of an assault rifle.  Both the M16 and the AK47 would be classified as assault rifles.  The AK47 always has fully automatic capabilities, while only the M16A1 and the M16A3 have the fully automatic option, along with a semi-automatic option.  The M16A2, and the M16A4 are both selective fire, either single (semi-automatic) fire, or 3-shot burst fire.

  5. "Assault weapon" is a made up term by the media and the anti gun people.

There are Assault rifles which the M16 and AKM-47 series rifles are if they are selective fire (fully atutomatic or automatic burst capable). They are available but extremely restricted and expensive and may be banned on the state level depending on where you are.

Semi automatic rifles are not assault rifles.

Don't believe the "assualt weapon" hype....

  6. What would you like to know about them?

  7. Yes, those are automatic, or selective fire assault weapons.  Is that your question or do you want information?

    Doc

  8. What about 'em?

    http://www.autoweapons.com

(dealer of transferrable machine guns. Guns, legal info, etc.)

    http://www.securityarms.com

(click on firearms photo archive, then click on any gun name for photo's and info)

WHATEVER you were wondering, one of these sites should help.

  9. if your asking if they are legal then the answer depends on where you live and then how much trouble you want to go through to get one.  The last time i checked in to it was that you had to pay a $200 one time tax, you have to have a clean record, have one lined up to purchase, I dont think you can just convert it, but im not sure and lots of other stupid things. They make it hard to do so that most people dont bother with it. Its the governments own little loop whole.

  10. Yep, they can both be fully automatic.

  11. by my standards, IF AND ONLY IF it's fully automatic. if it is semi automatic, then it is the same as ANY other rifle. Assault rifle is more of a political term than anything.

both AKs and M16s can be fully automatic, that doesn't mean they all are.

  12. An assault weapon is any weapon that is used to assault something or someone.

A base ball bat is an assault weapon if you hit someone with it.

So the Liberal Left CNBC, NBC, MSN, CNN and the rest have come up with this definition.

If they saw it on TV or in a Movie and it holds more than 5 rounds and is a automatic (auto loading) then it is an assault weapon

So with that said, Yes an M-16 and the AK-47 can be used as either a sporting or assault weapon.

The Military version of them are selective fire, that is single shot per trigger pull or burst fire

  13. Cool huh?

Is there a question in there?

  14. so, whats your question?
