Ok so I'm 15 and every Friday and Saturday night I babysit my 10 month old brother! I also mind him many evenings for a few hours when I come home from school!

He loves to go in his swing and walked in his pram but its getting really cold now and darker soon so i cant take him outside as much! Also the rain is just getting worse and worse! He gets bored pretty quick when hes in his walker and I'm running out of ideas to keep him entertained! He cant walk yet and doesnt crawl!

Any ideas anyone???

xoxo

  1. badminton?

  2. put on some music and dance around with him. sing kiddie songs with actions like wheels on the bus, pat a cake, itsy bitsy spider, etc...

  3. Kid shows on television such as 'The Wiggles' or 'Little Einsteins' are good  programs to keep them entertained! They are most likely to respond to the television characters then anything else.

I was going to suggest other things, but I just read he cannot walk yet!

    Haha

    :D

  4. Just put a bit of music on and encourage him to have a little dance with you! Even if he is just sat down, or your carrying him. My little cousin used to love that!

Or sit him on a towl and pull him round the room a bit, it's like a ride for them! haha!

  5. peek-a-boo is this best and blowing rasberries on their bellies

  6. my son is 11 months and just started walking, but a month ago he loved sitting on my lap and playing patty cake and itsy bitsy spider.. and always peek a boo! he crawled alot though too and i would get down and crawl after him or encourage him to walk and hold both his hands and let him walk with me...

just have fun..it doesnt take much to entertain a baby!

  7. What a wonderful sister, I bet your brother loves you! As well as the active things that have been suggested you could look at fun books together and have some quiet snuggly time, I bet you get exhausted!

  8. what about some books with music/pictures? interactive books?my baby likes them very much. I generally act for each character for e.g if there is a horse, i will show her how horse rides, if there is a dog, how it barks, if there is monkey how he jumps so on...there are some books which has live puppy. i make story with them to entertain my baby. hope this will help. good luck.
