Are you having a party with kids and adults present?  If it's small, I'd say make juice popsicles or icecream cones for all, set up a sprinkler for the kids and a shady area nearby for the adults to sit and visit.  I'm not a fan of squirt guns, but spray bottles from the dollar store work just as well.  If it's more people, how about a summer olympics?  Water balloon toss, relay that includes going past a sprinkler or two, maybe through a wading pool, etc.  At our last family reunion (22 kids, the oldest of whom was 12) we played water balloons with beach towels.  Two or more people hold onto each towel, and the balloon theoretically bounces on the towel, or from one team's towel to another, like volleyball.  I hope you all have a wonderful time!
