I would love any ideas for crafts, field trips, games etc. It is my last summer at home and I want to spend as much time as possible with the kiddos in my family, any ideas would really be great. Thanks!

  1. board games , visit old bethpage ( i went their in 2nd or 3rd grade), go to a theme park or to a vacation house.

this would b loads of fun if you can afford the certain things

  2. I know exactly how that can be I have younger sibling myself. so There is this one thing you might want to do which is give everyone a paper bag and a paper plate. On the plate you give them glitter and contruction paper plus whatever else that can be glued onto the plate to make a cool animal face. The once dried you clue the plate on the paper bag to put over their head to have a minny puppet show... I hope this helps....have fun

  3. A great trip would be to the local zoo or aqaruium on a nice day kids love that.

You could also have a picnic with them in the park.

  4. Craftzine.com has lots of great ideas for a variety of ages: http://www.craftzine.com/

Here is a link to my site that has free printables and all kinds of activity ideas, crafts, etc.  I add new things all the time, and take requests, so if there is anything specific you would like, please ask!

Since it is your last summer home, consider the field trips you enjoyed at that age, the places you want to make memories with your siblings at, and take them there!

You can stop by any local hotel or your state tourism location and pick up brochures for ideas.  Whatever you do:  take lots of pictures and make a scrapbook of your favorite summer!

Don't forget to ask the kiddos what they would like to do.  Maybe they will want to go to the store and buy a coconut!

    Have fun.

  5. I am a studying elementary and early childhood education, I also have helped with a summer preschool for the past two summers.  Some fun things that I have picked up along the way......

-Play-doh.  You can buy it, but its so much more fun to make it.  Don't  be afraid to experiment with different recipes!

-Shaving cream- Just put some on your table and play!  Kids have a great time drawing pictures, writing and more.... Plus it cleans your table!

-Go to the library.  Your kids can load up on great books that you can read together, and you can find books full of fun craft and game ideas.

-Build something together.  It could be something like a bird house, or something for inside the house.  Build a "kitchen" for your kids.  Make it just like yours if possible.

    -TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES!

-Use what interests your kids.... They'll probably have more ideas than any adult.

-Use lots of open-ended materials (egg cartons, milk cartons, pipe cleaners, glitter, construction paper, tissue paper, coffee filters, paper plates, etc).  Let their imaginations run wild!

  6. Here is a great article with lots of ideas - I like the edible playdough recipes and scratch 'n sniff watercolors-
