  1. I went on the Western Caribbean cruise with Carnival Cruise Lines and it was an amazing trip!  I can't wait until the next one. We went to Cozumel, Costa Maya, Grand Cayman and Belize. Plenty of fun things to do on the ship and the tours were actually not all the expensive.  I'd recommend going on a cruise to anyone who asks!

  2. depends where you live but, by far the most romantic cruise i've been on was to Bermuda. Other cruises don't seem so romantic becuase they stop at too many islands for a brief day. Bermuda was 7 days, and unreal beauty. People were awesome too. Some actually give you tours of their homes which are pastel in color. Go check out elbow beach while your there. Cruise will be fairly cheap too. Have fun

  3. Everyone's idea of affordable is different.  If you are on a budget, I would recommend Carnival.  They have many nice itineraries to offer.  I also recommend www.cruiselinefans.com they are an informative cruising site with many great members willing and ready to help.  The Western Caribbean or Bahamas...

If you haven't travelled much before...I highly recommend the use of a Travel Agent.  Get recommendations.  The site I listed above will give some.

  4. well first check your budget and then check out where you want to go the caribean is awesome. and then check out cruise lines i prefer rccl .go to www.cruisecritic.com they have all the good bad and ugly on all ships .

but honey any cruise will be romantic if your with the one you love so have a great time .

  5. Since this is your first cruise, find a travel agent who is a certified cruise specialist.  There are a lot of details, so don't try to book the cruise yourself.

Talk to the agent about your budget, what you'd like to get out of the cruise (diving, beaches, shopping, touring, exploriing, etc.), when you'd like to go, and for how many days.  If you have all this information for the agent when you call or see them, then they should be able to find you the perfect cruise.

If you don't have passports, go to www.usps.gov/passport, complete the paperwork, get pictures taken at Kinkos, Walgreen's, Wal-Mart, etc. and get that taken care of.  You will need it after Jan 1, 2007.

Make sure you book travel insurance.  Less expensive and more  comprehensive coverage if you purchase Travelex or Travel Guard vs. the insurance offered by cruise line.  Once you have the money invested in a cruise, its worth spending the few extra bucks to make sure that you can recover your costs if you have to cancel your cruise due to illness, death in the family, missed flight connection, or are injured and require medical assistance outside of the US.  Please don't question it - just do it.

Hope this helps.  Know you'll love cruising.  If you don't have an agent and would like a recommendation, email me at gsa_stlmo@yahoo.com.

    Bon Voyage!
