Fun and cheap places to go during the summer?

Summers are always hot where I'm from, so I suggest anywhere with free access to water, the beach, a river picnic, bring a volley/basket ball, with you, or board games like checkers, chess...

Pack fun and tasty snacks/lunch and take it with you.
