Question:

Fun and different idea for a 30th birthday celebration?

My birthday isn't until September (I'm an early planner) but I am hoping to throw a huge party for all my NY/NJ/PA friends in the NJ area for my 30th birthday. I've thought of a booze cruise, Dave & Busters, and just a hotel bar shindig, but I want something really unique and affordable. (I don't want my friends have to pay $50 dollars for my party...$30-40 per person is doable).

I'm thinking central or North Jersey would be the appropriate areas to work with location wise. I have a party in NYC almost every year so I want something different.

So, any ideas you may have will be greatly appreciated! THANK YOU!!!

  1. It might be worth the few points to ask this question again in the travel/New Jersey section.  Perhaps some people there could give you some suggestions.  Sorry, that's all I've got for you.

  2. Do you have any friends that work in large corporate buildings? Many of these friends have access to the "Party Rooms," or if you are lucky, rooftops with decks. Also try apartment buildings your friends live in.

Some of these places require a depoist, but everybody loves being high.. I mean up high!

  3. what's really cool is party themes, like masquerades or an 80's themed party where everyone dresses up like they did in the 80's and you have a winner for the best dressed and play 80's disco music, etc, etc.

what you want is something new and something that will attract attention and sound interesting. you're turning 30! enjoy being young and active. you want to do something fun. maybe go to an awesome concert and jump around until you drop five pounds. there are a lot of ideas you can do. most of the things are affordable. look around on the web, a lot of websites will give you tons of ideas.

    do something creative.
