  1. Just being yourself helps.  Most people don't want to be asked those sorts of questions - they'll just think you're a bit odd.  Try just asking everyday sorts of questions like 'what did you do at the weekend?' and 'have you got any holidays planned?'

Plus if you do ask a really controversial question you might get into sticky waters if they reply with an equally controversial question you can't answer.  Then you would no longer look intelligent.

But if you're still wanting to do it...try looking up Howard Bloom on Amazon.  I've read The Lucifer Principle and there are lots of very controversial ideas in there.

  2. Apparently, asking someone 'what would be the first thing you would take out of a burning house?. You get the usual, but also replies with questions instead, like 'who started the fire?, which is more interesting than answering the 'right' question.

Incidentally, when someone asked me this, it triggered me off to buy a strong box and put all my important stuff in it, just in case.

  3. You could ask them about politics or there favorite things. Also, give them irddles or jokes they are always fun !! =)

  4. the best answer is, in my humble opinion, actively  listen to what they are saying and respond-

If you are asking how to chat up someone- then remember that 90 per cent is non verbal- and I have never met a girl ( which i think is where you are going with this) who is impressed in that way -   it is consistency they look for and being natural-  you are either funny or you are not

  5. I like to ask 'would you rather' type questions.

ie:  would you rather be tased once daily or stung by 10 bees once daily?

would you rather drink sour milk or listen to country music?

etc.... always find it gets the creative conversations going!!

  6. 1. If corn oil comes from corn, and vegetable oil comes from vegetables, where does baby oil come from?

    2. What is the only food that does not spoil? (Honey)

    3. Where is the deepest indentation on the Earth? (Marianas Trench, Pacific Ocean)

    4. Do bears run faster up hill or down hill? (Up hill because down hill they cannot control their weight.)
