My son will be 3 months old on August 21st and I am constantly trying to think of ways to stimulate his mind and senses. I am always doing research and frequent websites like babycenter.com for ideas, but I was wondering what you guys might suggest. What do/did your children enjoy at this age? Also, if anyone knows of any other websites that have good ideas, please feel free to mention them. Thanks everyone!

  1. whattoexpect.com has an EXCELLENT source of information about stages and such. I receive a newsletter with age appropriate activities for my daughter and growth developements.

I sang songs to her, moved her arms & legs a lot. My daughter usually liked tummy time and I would place a mirror in front or on a side of her when on her tummy.

  2. I loved singing to the baby and playing mozart or choirs and bands on the radio. I also took walks around the home and outside the home to place him into views of nature and sounds. I woud talk endlesly and even read and show pictures...It sounds funny but they do enjoy it and deveopes there mind in a healthy and positive way.

  3. My son just turned 3 months on August 10th!  I feel the same way.  I am constantly wondering if I'm stimulating him enough and always looking for new and interesting ways to interact w/him.  I sing, talk, move his arms and legs, take walks around the neighborhood and to the park, take him on errands...  but there are definite moments where I zone out and feel exhausted and end up sticking in a Baby Einstein video b/c I need a break or I'm pumping.  If you find any new ideas...I'd love to hear about them.  Good luck and thanks...  I know this is not really an anwer, but it's nice to know I'm not alone w/these things...

  4. you will find that your presence with him and talking to him and using an excited voice with him is going to make him very happy. also sing happy songs to him, that is what i did with mine and now with my nephew who is 4 months...alot of fun you will do a fine job

  5. I use to play paddy cake and peeka boo with my gurls... when I gave them tummy time I would put colourful things in front of them to encourage them to try and grab it.. Talking and singing to them is always fun my kids loved that stuff...

  6. Aren't they the best??  My daughter is 4 and 1/2 months.  She loves for me to sing to her, dance around the living room, play itsy bitsy spider with my hands so she can see, and i read to her.  There really isn't a lot to do with them where they can interact.  I've looked up a million different sites too looking for new ways... but I think she likes to play with "my" hands and face more then anything!!  Good luck!
