So my friends bar mitzvah is coming up and someone is making him a song and someone else is making a candy gram and poem. Any ideas on what I could make for him?

  1. I like the idea above. Its simple and nice... but it doesnt have the same oomph as a song :P

All of these have some ideas.

I find candy is a great gift.. you could get them like $30 of lollies, but it would be great if you could put some symbolic gesture into why you bought those kind of lollies.

For my friends sixteenth, i just got lots of little things and wrapped them up.... like a box of matches, a bottle of bbq sauce etc. I said in the card that as I was older, it was time to send on my wisdom. Never forget your matches (or your toothbrush) bbq sauce hides any burntness when you over cook, no matter how organised you are, you will always run out of toilet paper at the worst time, little things like that

    Hope it helps!

  2. i would make him a thing of flowers and candy that says "Happy Bar Mitzvah!!"

  3. Ask his mom for a bunch of his old photographs. Make copies and give her back the originals.  Either do a collage in a large frame with other "meaningful" decorations included in the collage, or make up a scrapbook with comments or stories written on every page.  Ask his family for stories to go with some of the photos.  He'll have it forever.  The candy gram will be gone in five minutes.
