  2. umm lunchables are a popular favourite!! frubes and making a fruit salad with lots of colours is a good choice because its yummy and kids like it coz it looks appealing! know this sounds stupid but having it in a fun lunchbox will probably make it more fun coz kids are like that!! umm also u could always use different fillings for their sandwiches everyday so they dont get bored. always giv them something different everyday so they wont get bored! hope this helps!

  3. If you are making sandwiches like peanut butter and jelly, you can make the sandwich, then use a cookie cutter, so the sandwich is star shaped, or dinosaur shaped. or whatever shape the child likes.

You can sort of duplicate Lunchables by packing separate little containers of meat, crackers/bread, cheese & mustard.

The same company has a pizza lunchable that you could sort of duplicate using Boboli ready made pizza crusts. I bet every kid at school would be jealous - i would be.

    Sub and Boat Sandwiches

    Healthy recipes from FamilyFun

         2 of 9

    SUPER SUB

Faster than a hot dog, stronger than spicy mustard, SuperSub gives the basic hero extra special powers by adding your child's favorite fixings--sliced onions, red, green or jalapeño peppers, pitted black olives, or sweet pickles.

    1 medium hero roll

4 to 6 slices of thinly cut cheese and/or luncheon meats

    4 thin tomato slices

    1/2 cup shredded lettuce

    2 tsp. vegetable oil

    2 tsp. red wine vinegar

    Salt and pepper to taste

Slice the hero roll in half lengthwise and scoop out some of the soft bread inside. Line both sides of the roll with your child's favorite cheese and luncheon meat. Top with the tomato slices and shredded lettuce. Sprinkle the surface evenly with the oil and vinegar and season with salt and pepper and any special additions. Close up the sandwich, then cut it in half and wrap it in plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Makes 1 large sandwich.

    BOLOGNA BOAT

Bologna may not be included on most parents' Top Five Sandwich lists, but children recognize the true worth of this lunchtime standby. This version--which comes dressed as a hot dog--tastes great accompanied by a few potato chips and a pickle.

    1 tsp. mustard

1 slice bologna (or turkey bologna)

    1 slice American cheese

    1 hot dog bun

Spread the mustard onto the slice of bologna. Top with a slice of cheese and roll them together. Place the roll in the hot dog bun and wrap it in aluminum foil. Makes 1 serving.

Fill your child's lunchbox with healthy and fun lunches they'll actually eat!

My son REALLY doesn't like the hot lunches served at his school.

He never has and he says he never will (I don't blame him).

So, I've spent the past several years creating fun ways to get

him to eat a healthy lunch, without a lot of extra packaging,

preservatives and sugar. Here are some favorite school lunch

recipes and tips to help you prepare healthy lunches all school year!

A Few Easy Fool-Proof Lunch Recipes

    Cookie Cutter Sandwiches

Any sandwich cut with a large cookie cutter; star, heart,

dinosaur, animals, etc. will become an irresistible treat!

    Pin Wheel Sandwiches

Spread your child's favorite sandwich filling onto a tortilla

Roll it up and slice it into smaller pieces. Our favorite

fillings are - peanut butter and jelly, lunch meat with cream cheese or Laughing Cow Cheese®.

    Cheesy Stars

Use a small star cookie cutter to cut cheddar cheese

pieces. In a separate bag provide crackers or apple slices. You can also use the cookie cutter to cut bologna,

    ham or turkey.

    Bugs on Log

An old favorite with kids - Fill celery with cream cheese or peanut butter and top with raisins.  An equally delicious alternative to peanut butter is cream cheese or Laughing Cow Cheese®

    Smiley Face Fun

Spread peanut butter or cream cheese on a rice cake.

Make a face using raisins or any dried fruit and a full

head of hair with coconut flakes. This is a bit hard to pack for a lunch but a zip close plastic bag usually works

    pretty well.

    Cookie Dippers

Send vanilla wafer cookies along with a favorite yogurt.

Kids love to dip and this way they are getting less sugar

    than most packaged treats.

    Fun Chips

Use large cookie cutters to cut a flour tortilla or wrap.

Arrange on cookie sheet and toast in a 400 degree oven for 6-8 mins.

Send to school plain or with bean dip for dipping.

Try brushing a very small amount of olive oil or cooking spray.

Then sprinkle parmesan cheese or cinnamon sugar. If you try the cinnamon sugar, send the chips along with a container of applesauce for dipping.

    Kid’s love to dip…

Pack string cheese and rolled meat slices with a honey

    mustard dressing for dipping.

    I made it myself !

I find that my children are more apt to eat a brown bag lunch they've helped to make. Whether it's the cookies they baked with me or the sandwich they made in the morning.

    Packaging

The retail world knows...enticing packaging sells. Especially when it comes to kids. Unfortunately, what's inside is not always nutritious. Solve this dilemma by generating your own fun packaging. Before the school year begins, stock up on cheerfully colored re-usable containers, fun party napkins and stickers for plastic bags. A healthy lunch will be fun to eat!

Hope this helps at least. ^^

  5. When you make them sandwiches, use cookie cutters and cut out cute designs in them, like animals, hearts, boy/girl figures, etc. You could also make cupcakes with their names on them using frosting and chocolate chips  and sprinkles and stuff. Try it.

  6. I cut my kids sandwiches in shapes using cookie cutters.  They love it.

  7. I babysit for kids constantly and need to make their lunches.  I recently found a recipe for mini quiches that you make with cupcake holders.  You can fill them with potatoes or sausage or pepperoni or whatever they like.  They LOVED them.  Another way is to let them help with simple things like spreading the peanut butter on bread or washing off their fruit.  One other suggestion is to let the kids dip fruit in a fondue dish or various other ramekins filled with peanut butter, marshmallow puff, chocolate, carmel or other things.

  8. i like to put a note or draw a picture in the lunch box. and they look forward to get it.

my kids love cold pizza, nuggets, rice salad
