Fun logic question using 1 minute string fuse to time 30 seconds.

you have a 1-minute string fuse, and it burns unevenly, fast then slow, slow then fast. you have one match, no clocks, no other timing devices.

how do you time *exactly* 30 seconds.

fold it in half and burn it from the bent end when its all out 30 sec is up

cut the string length wise and burn either end, this will account for the different densities that make the string burn faster or slower.
