Question:

Fun nickname question?

I've never really thought about having a pool nickname, but if I did, here's my idea (if you can give yourself a nickname). My initials are M.D., so I was thinking "Doc". Additionally, I've worked in health care for about 5 years and to paraphrase Fast Eddie Felson, "In straight pool, you have to be a real surgeon...". Any thoughts? I'm just killing some time before tonight's tournament. M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

I have one more idea...It'll sound silly at first, but I'll explain (and it may still seem silly)...M "Jam-Up" D or Dr. Jam-Up.  All right, let me explain jam-up...This guy my husband is friends with always uses the term jam-up to describe a good player ("He plays jam-up pool")...The word 'jam' written in telephone code (for lack of knowledge of the official word for that) is 526.  Plus, you do play jam-up pool, right?

Did Steven5ball use the word 'sobriquet'?? This is America, buddy...we speak American...Just kidding, thumbs-up :)

  4. How about "Dr Giggles"....like in that horror movie where this guy(Doctor) just slices everyone up and then "giggles" each time.......and that is what you do, anyone dares to get in front of you,  you are going to slice them up.....it does not matter how fast/good  they can "run" or whatever the defensive measures they try .....you WILL catch them at the end and get them no matter what!!...........hee! hee! hee! hee!hee!

  5. Seems to me that "Straight Shooter" should be your sobriquet. And does the 526 represent the record number of balls Willie Mosconi ran? Just asking!

  6. If your initials are M.D. then it's gotta be Mad Dog. We have a guy here that can cut the ball like a surgeon . We call him the knife. Nicknames are pretty cool.

  7. well..Doc is a cool name, but it's kinda already taken by "Doctor Cue"..and you want something unique..so what about Mac Draw, or your name(M... )+dynamite or something creative(haha, i know, you're probably laughing at my suggestions)...but hey..you know where i'm getting at :P
