Fun place to eat in the South Bay (Redondo, hermosa, torrance etc)?

We're looking for a new fun place in the south bay to take my sister for her birthday. Hoping to find something interactive or where you can cook your own food or eat with your hands or something a little different than the norm.

Along the lines of Gyu Kaku or Benihana but it doesn't have to be asian cuisine.

Go down to the Redondo Beach pier and get crab and lobster cooked in front of you.

Down on the lower part of the pier (where the boats are docked) is a restauarnt that takes what was freshly brought in and will cook it for you. You put down newspaper on the tables and dig in with your hands. They even rent mallets so you can crack your crabs and lobster.

If on a weekend, head over to Nodges after and listen to some music.

Great and fun for a birthday.

Captain Kidds in Redondo Beach. It is not fancy at all. But it has a fish market where you can choose the piece of fish to have cooked to order, or, if you are up to it, choose a live crab who doesn't stay that way long.

The place is full of local color, kind of a dive but an experience, nonetheless.  If its not right for your sister's birthday make sure to go there some other time, though.

First timers have a hard time figuring where to go, since there are at least 5 different places to order different types of food, in spite of the helpful footsteps painted on the floor.  In addition to fresh fish and crab they also smoke their own fish and the mixed smoked fish plate is excellent to whet your appetite.

It is right in King Harbor north of the pier.  Sunset from the dinning area or out on the porch is incomparable.

Joe's Crab Shack in Redondo Beach is a great place for bithdays!  Plus you get to crack crab legs with your hands if you want.  They also have other stuff don't worry!  Also when its your birthday, they dress you up in funny costumes while the whole restaurant sings to you.  Great family place.

For more of a Benihana place, try Samba.  Located also in Redondo Beach close the the crab shack.  They have steaks and people samba dancing.  Havent been there but I heard it is really good.
