Just for fun...

But, I have seen some silver colored shell casings, more specifically Speer .40 S&W. What metal are these made from, and would they be re loadable?

Thank You

  1. I think that a good ol' 12 gauge with a pistol grip and a barrel shroud looks manly.

    or a 1911.

    or an ar 15.

  2. a manly gun is whatever a man picks up and uses to get what needs doing done.

It depends, if it is a coating, those shells can be reloaded, if they are aluminum like from the manufacturer blazer, then no, they are not reloadable

  3. Huh?  Manly gun?  Colt Python .357 Magnum.

Silver colored shell casings?  How about nickel plated over brass?  That's what they probably are, nickel plated casing which are re-loadable.

    H

  4. It is the man behind the gun, that makes the difference.

  5. manly gun is a cheytac m-200 .408

    accurate out to 1.5 miles

  6. I agree with KCX! The S&W model 29 .44 Magnum is the gold standard "manly guns"!

It may not be the world's most powerful any longer, but it still packs one heck of a punch, and it is still pretty famous, even almost 40 years after Clint Eastwood delivered the famous lines "...do you feel lucky...?"

  7. A manly gun would be any gun that aint pink.

  8. S&W 29

  9. a S&W .44 mag

  10. A Manly Gun would be any gun that belongs to the man that owns it.

Shell Casings= I believe they are made of Nickel.

  11. Pretty much any gun can be a manly gun other than that "Hello Kitty" AR-15 that has been pictured on the internet a lot.  I simply couldn't take anything like that to the range without being laughed at.

If I had to pick something for being manly, my Hungarian AMD-65 would fit the bill.  Dual pistol gripped AKM with side folding stock.

Your Speer casings are nickel plated brass. They will reload, but after being used a few times, they don't look as nice as new casings.  Just be aware of the Barnual casings from ammo like .223 and .308 it is shiney looking but the Barnual stuff is steel and berdan primed.

If you are looking to save casings for reloading, pick them up at the range and when done, run a magnet over them.  Toss any that stick. Then look inside for a single central flash hole, if they got more than one or are off center, they are berdan and can be scrapped.

  12. the silver cases from speer are most likely nickel plated and should be reloadable

a manly gun? my choice 1911 45 acp.

(just had a mental image of john wayne holding his big ring winchester)

  13. The B. A. R.  = Browning Automatic Rifle, magazine -fed, air cooled, gas operated in 30-06 caliber.*

  14. A manly gun?  That would definitely have to be an M16.  Just think of all it represents.  There are no more manly men then those in the US Military!

  15. Manly, hmmm, I'll have to think about it, but if you were going for bad-***, a 12-gauge, pump-action shotgun.

  16. 4" .500 S&W. Very controllable. .460 S&W Wow. Mine? Model 29 .

  17. I think a Dragunov rifle is pretty manly. Also, you can't really go wrong with an old SxS shotgun.

The silver casings are probably plated with nickle or something.

  18. A pistiol grip 12 gauge shotgun PUMP

And the pump has a pistol grip as well......

  19. There is no such thing as a sexed weapon other than big **** and a nice round butt and I'm not talking gun butt either.  Paint them pink or blue, a gun is a gun is a gun, period.

  20. anything bigger than a .38 is pretty manly. as for the casings they are reloadable.it is nickel plated brass.

  21. I had to mark this as an interesting question.

    Manly gun. (?)

I used to think 1911 were manly guns. Grip the pistol and my chest inflated a little. Then I saw a couple of female offices shooting with 1911 and they went from manly to s**y. They look much better in a woman's hands than my meat hooks.

AR-16's are manly until a pretty lady shoulder one then they become a beautiful female accent, very s**y and not manly anymore.

How about a Ruger Redhawk? I feel manly when I shoot it. Not too many girls will hold or shoot it. They could, I would even make down loaded ammo if they wanted to. That's the best I can come up with the Ruger redhawk.

Your question about the cases; they are nickle and yes reloadable.

  22. I don't know what the metal is, but what i see as a "manly" gun is a semi-automatic .50 rifle!

  23. the casing? it is most likely steel...or bi-metal (steel/nickel)

  24. my 458 lott and my 416 weatherby mag

  25. .50 BMG rifle is pretty manly.   This is a picture of Speer .40 S&W ammo with nickel-plated brass cases.
